Midlands Technical College (MTC) is a public, two-year technical college with multiple locations across South Carolina. It has approximately 16,000 students. MTC's School of Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades

MTC's School of Advanced Manufacturing and Skills Trades provides training in graphics design production and welding technology. This program allows students to learn from experts with many years of experience in their chosen field. Students develop problem-solving skills and critical thinking as they learn about manufacturing. They also get hands-on training to prepare them for job placement. The 2014-2015 schoolyear saw a placement rate of 91 percent. Graduates work at companies such as Continental Tire, Eaton and Nucor.

MTC's School of Health Care

MTC's School of Health Care offers many career options for anyone interested in health care. The School of Health Care offers programs in emergency care as well pharmacy and veterinary assisting. One of two-year programs is available to students. Individual training courses are also available. Individual training courses can lead to a job in the clinical therapeutic field, which encompasses occupational therapy, physical therapy, massage therapy, and personal training.


You can apply for merit admissions, regardless of whether you're interested in a career as a nurse or in radiology. MTC offers merit admittance opportunities for students in radiologic technology, dental hygiene, or nursing. Merit admissions are also available in Respiratory Care, Dental Hygiene and Radiologic Technology. These are only available in the fall. The program allows students to sit for the ASE certification exam, which certifies automotive technicians.
